Together, we collaborate to create and implement programs that bridge classroom learning with real-world artistic experiences. The dance festival, held in January, brings together DCPS students for a full day of immersive sessions with professional dancers, culminating in a showcase of the students’ work.
This event is a special moment for singers in grades 6-12 to come together for a day of exploring various vocal genres, harmonizing, building community, and celebrating the joy of music.
The Let’s Go-Go Program at DCPS immerses students in the rich cultural heritage of Go-Go music through teaching artist residencies and a rehearsing band, offering hands-on learning about its history, musical elements, and cultural significance
Build Day is the culminating celebration of the Enchanted City Cornerstone unit, where students imagine what their city could and should be through architectural sculptures.
A partnership with the Pulitzer Center, Everyday DC is a middle school photojournalism Cornerstone unit that provides students the opportunity to show their perspective on their city through images - in contrast to prevailing media narratives.
In partnership with the Children’s Chorus of Washington, the Elementary All-City Vocal Music Event offers young singers a unique day of musical discovery, community building, and joyful singing.
In collaboration with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the DC Public Schools Performing Arts Festival showcases over 100 student ensembles from kindergarten to twelfth grade, celebrating the achievements of students, teachers, and community partnerships.
Transform DC is a high school Cornerstone unit focused on collaborative mural making and public art.
